Code of Good Practice for Renewable Energy Industry in Romania

RWEA in collaboration with Investment Reports is putting together a Code of Good Practice (“CGP”) which will establish a set of guidelines for Romania in all the stages of a wind project – development, construction and operation. The goal is to streamline the process and enable the delivery of the renewable capacities established in the Romanian National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). It will address renewable energy in general, and wind in particular.

WHEN?

Research, interviews and company branding reservations are taking place between December 2020 - March 2021. The CGP is set to be launched in April 2021.

WHY?

Far more than a collection of regulations and guidelines, the CGP will serve as inspiration for investors, who instead of sticking to rigid rules will take part in the process of designing effective ones. It will be inspired also from proven processes carried out in the European Union, especially where they have led to the creation of positive attitudes in the investment process. Likewise, it will be actively distributed to local and national authorities, driving policy forward.

The Code of Good Practice will tackle, among others:

Environmental and Planning Procedures ▪ Permitting & Land Lease Practices ▪ Investors' Obligations ▪ Repowering & Lifetime Extension ▪ Decommissioning ▪ Creating National Value & Economic Benefits ▪ Supporting Local Suppliers & Communities ▪ HSE & Maintenance Practices
